With rapidly expanding populations, the demand for energy throughout the Middle East continues to surge upward. Recent reports state that as the region has demonstrated an extended level of stability, local and international organisations are now in a position to increase investment.

According to the World Energy Council, GCC countries will require a total of 100,000MW of power over the next ten years alone. Independent estimates suggest that USD$57 billion will be invested in the MENA region over the next six years to install new generation capacity, with total investment in the sector of USD$200 billion over the next 15 years. The Gulf region is experiencing a massive boom. Arab countries have introduced policies and reforms to open up the region's economies and reduce the role of the state with the aims of improving the investment environment and attracting foreign investment. These strategies, coupled with an increase in oil prices and investor preference towards the region, have allowed solid economic expansion across the region. The Middle East Electricity exhibition has been rated by exhibitors and visitors as the leading energy event of its kind anywhere in the world and provides the platform to increase returns from this growth.
