Project owners, consultants and contractors are invited to collaboratively submit their smart power projects of the year. The award recognises innovative projects designed to reduce energy consumption and cultivate sustainable urban developments.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Launched in the MEA region in 2016 (Jan – Dec)
  • Invited submissions from: Utilities, municipalities, developers, consultants, contractors

Judging Criteria:

  • Innovation
  • Energy efficiency and environmental impact
  • Project results (financial, non-financial, construction)
  • Benefits to the end user/target audience

Young Engineer of the Year

This award will acknowledge a young engineer who is recognised as having immense potential and is viewed by their organisation as one of their most valuable assets for the future. The award will identify young, enthusiastic engineers that the industry can rely upon to maintain, as well as make a positive contribution to the future growth of the industry.
Nominations can be made by anyone within the industry wanting to recommend a young achiever that meets the below criteria.  
Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicant must not exceed 30 years of age as of the 31 December 2016
  • Working in the MEA region

Judging criteria:

  • Outline of a significant contribution to the organisation - either a specific project or idea that has been implemented or any contribution that the management feel demonstrates their worthiness of recognition

Submission Requirements (in additional to the above):

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • A letter of recommendation from Department/ Line Manager
