Over 9,290 decision makers directly involved in the Gas and Gas related industries visited MEE 2007

Introduced at the 2006 show, Gas continues its growth as an important vertical sector at the Middle East Electricity Exhibition.  Natural Gas is currently the world’s second  most important source of energy  and the investments associated with gas procurement is projected to increase.

Only a few countries world wide have reserves of Natural Gas, the world’s second most important fossil fuel. Economically recoverable natural gas reserves have risen continuously over the last decades. World natural gas reserves were estimated at 6,040 Trillion Cu. Feet as of  January 2005.

The Middle East and the transitional economies of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union boasts of three-quarters of the world’s natural gas reserves. Russia, Iran and Qatar combined account for approx. 58% of the world’s natural gas reserves.

Global demand for natural gas continues to grow and consumption of natural gas worldwide is projected to increase by almost 70% from 92 Trillion Cu. Feet to 156 Trillion Cu. Feet.

As per the EIA reports, natural gas consumption in the Middle East is projected to double between 2002 and 2025 . The share of total Middle East energy demand met by natural gas is projected to increase from 39%  in 2002 to 45% in 2025, while the share of total energy demand met by oil is projected to decline from 53% to 48%.
