The 2023 “global stocktake” for all nations signed up to the Paris Agreement is looming large. To meet the long-term goals of the agreement, the share of renewables in the world’s primary energy supply must be raised from the current 15% to 65% by 2050.

But fusing the reliability and cost effectiveness of traditional power generation solutions with renewables technology is a constant challenge for governments, utilities and private projects. Through increased digitisation, retrofits and hybrid approaches progress is being made.
